Tap Start, allow location access while using the app, and keep Precise Location enabled. Test outdoors where your iPhone can receive a usable GPS signal. Open Trip details to see distance, average speed, and elapsed time.

A dash means a reliable current speed reading is not available. Check Location Services and Precise Location in iPhone Settings, then move to an open area. Buildings, tunnels, and weak signals can interrupt GPS. Missing readings are not invented; distance and average speed may be incomplete after signal loss.

Yes. Start a trip while Speedometer: Big Digits is open, then switch apps or lock the screen. An active trip continues using background location updates. Pause and Reset stop location tracking. Continued GPS use can reduce battery life.

Switching apps keeps an active trip running. Force-quitting Speedometer: Big Digits, or iOS ending its process, stops tracking and clears the current trip. Trip history and routes are not saved.

Pause stops time and distance measurement. Resume continues the trip without adding movement from the pause. Reset clears the trip after confirmation. Average speed includes stopped time during an active trip and excludes paused time.

Speedometer: Big Digits requires iOS 18.0 or later. The display supports portrait and landscape. Set up the app before moving and interact with it only when safe.
